PALM HARBOR — Rather than rely on outside areas holding home shows around the Tampa Bay area, the Tarpon Springs Chamber of Commerce decided to bring one to its own backyard.

Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort will be the site of the inaugural North Pinellas-Pasco Home Show this weekend, a two-day gathering of businesses and service providers all focused on around-the-house work.

“What we realized is that there are zero home shows in this area,” said Chamber of Commerce President Sue Thomas. “The closest ones are in Tampa and St. Pete and the fairgrounds.

“We thought it’s time for our businesses to get some of the work.”

The chamber is touting it as an opportunity for area owners of houses, condos or apartments to talk to local businesses about an array of home needs or wants.

Somewhere between 80 and 100 booths are expected to be occupied during the Saturday-Sunday event. Vendors’ specialties range from home decor to landscaping to interior and exterior design and more. Many will also be hosting seminars for their products.

Though the event is dubbed the North Pinellas-Pasco Home Show, Thomas said the chamber has been advertising in both counties and in Hillsborough, as well.

“We’re expecting to get people — vendors and guests — from all over the area, not just here in Pinellas,” she said.

Both days operate from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

An extra treat will be presented 3–5 p.m. on Sunday when mentalist Greg Raven will entertain guests and exhibitors.

According to his website, Raven is a showman who mixes mentalism, audience participation, humor and magic in his attention-grabbing performances.

Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort is at 36750 U.S. 19, Palm Harbor.
