We are writing to express our view on the proposed plans for Circle Boulevard and Orange Lake-Sims Park.
We think it would be preposterous to put the Peace Hall in the middle of the lake and have a walkway to it. What about the ducks who live around the lake? Where would they go?
Also, duck food dispensers recently went up at the lake claiming that “Bread Kills.” I have been here 12 years and watch people feeding ducks bread and never saw a dead duck, except when the city ran over one with a lawn mower.
Why deprive children and other people the pleasure of feeding ducks? For 25 cents you get a piddling amount of duck pellets. Not enough to feed two ducks.
We hope the city will reconsider putting a historic former church building in the middle of our beautiful lake. It’s such a beautiful spot, why ruin it? Who thought of this? Some consulting firm? Hogwash.

Blame Obama, Reid
In response to your editorial “Shared Blame,” I quote parts of a column by Thomas Sowell, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
There is nothing complicated about the facts. The Republican-controlled House voted the money required to keep all government activities going — except for Obamacare. This is not opinion. You can check the Congressional Record. The Senate chose not to authorize spending money because it did not include money for Obamacare. If Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and President Barack Obama refuse to accept the money required to run the government because it leaves out the money they want for Obamacare, that is their right. But that is also their responsibility.
You cannot blame other people for not giving you everything you want. It is fraud to blame them when you refuse to use the money they did vote. When Obama claims it is an outrage for those who control the money to try to change government policy by withholding money, that is simply a bald-faced lie.
