An employee with the U.S. Marshal's office sustained non-life threatening injuries from an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound Wednesday at a Pinellas County Sheriff's firing range.

Deputies say a firearm was unintentionally discharged at the Sheriff's Office Range, 11700 34th St. N. in St. Petersburg.

Officials are not releasing the name of victim since due to their current work assignment with the U.S. Marshals.

Around 9 a.m., Pinellas County deputies say members of the U.S. Marshals were utilizing the range for various shooting exercises when the employee suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the upper leg.

The employee was treated at the scene and hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
