Tarpon man, 23, fatally shot outside Tampa club

Published:

A 23-year-old Tarpon Springs man was gunned down outside a downtown Tampa nightclub early Thursday, investigators said.

Terence Warren Wilson was found fatally shot in a parking lot at 901 E. Whiting St., adjacent to Club Underground, police said.

No suspect information was available, police said.

Police detectives said they believe the shooting may have been related to an incident inside the nightclub. About 1:50 a.m., as Wilson walked to his vehicle from the club, he became involved in an altercation with someone, police said.

Wilson, of 1506 Starlight Cove, was shot near his vehicle, police said.

Shortly before 2 a.m., witnesses flagged down a nearby patrol unit to report the shooting, police said. When officers arrived at the lot, they found Wilson wounded.

Detectives are interviewing club patrons and following up on leads to identify any suspects.

Anyone with information was asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 873-TIPS (8477) or text “CSTB” plus the tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Anonymous tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $3,000 in cash.
