— Many of the city’s best and brightest young minds were honored with a ceremony at City Hall last Tuesday.

The May 20 City Commission meeting led off with the annual event, which recognizes students who achieved weighted grade point averages of 4.0 or better this school year.

Parents and family members of this year’s 107 honorees packed into City Hall to watch each of the exceptional students receive their awards.

Students were seated in rows on stage and waited for their names to be read before walking to Mayor David Archie and shaking hands with the five-member board of commissioners.

The ceremony honors Tarpon Springs students of all ages, from elementary to high school.
