Students initiated into honor society Palm Harbor residents Liam Kelly, Melissa Thomas, Joanne Mercier and RyAnn Gavin were all inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Baton Rouge, La.

Founded in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi is the nationís oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Phi Kappa Phi inducts approximately 32,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni each year. The society has chapters on more than 300 select colleges and universities in North America and the Philippines. Membership is by invitation only to the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students and 7.5 percent of juniors.

Letter of intent signed Tarpon Spring High School forward Hannah James, signed a letter of intent to attend Clearwater Christian College and to play basketball for the Lady Cougars. James, a 5-foot 10-inch forward, played for the Lady Spongers and participated in the Gulf Coast Girls All-Star Game as a member of the Pinellas County team in March, 2013.

James, the daughter of David and Christy James of Holiday, plans to major in elementary education.
