A man passed a note to a teller implying he had a weapon during a bank robbery Tuesday morning at a SunTrust branch in St. Petersburg, police said.
No weapon was seen during the robbery, which occurred about 9 a.m. at 3100 Central Ave. After the robbery, the man ran east onto Central Avenue and out of sight.
The suspect was described by police as 30 years old and 5 feet 4 inches tall with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
Police said it did not appear to be the same person who robbed another SunTrust branch on 34th Street North on Monday.
