The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help in finding a driver who seriously injured a security guard at a Palm Harbor adult nightclub after intentionally running over him.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. after 42-year-old Douglas Berube, of Palm Harbor, attempted to secure the patron after a fight broke out at Silks, 37100 U.S. 19 N.

Berube could not contain the patron, troopers say, and the patron entered a vehicle and intentionally ran over Berube in the parking lot before fleeing southbound on U.S. 19.

Berube was airlifted to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with serious injuries, troopers say.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the FHP at (813) 631-4020.
