PALM HARBOR — Being appreciated by one’s peers is often the most flattering form of professional recognition.
Two Palm Harbor Fire Rescue firefighters, Ret. Fire Chief James Angle and Lt. Milton Smith, received just that recently.
Angle, who retired last year, was selected by fellow employees as the 2013 Firefighter of the Year, and Milton was named 2013 Employee of the Year.
A Palm Harbor Fire Rescue press release states: “Chief Angle’s numerous accomplishments are only surpassed by his dedication to Palm Harbor Fire Rescue and his excellent leadership seen throughout the community.”
In addition to his professional work, the press release states that Smith dedicates much of his off-duty time as the department Chaplain and constantly cares for the well-being of others.
“He is vital in the preparations for such events and assists in helping family members during difficult times,” the statement reads.
