Published:

A Pinellas Park man suffered life-threatening injuries Sunday night after, police say, he stabbed his cousin before turning the knife on himself.

Pinellas Park police responded to a call around 9:45 p.m. at the 6700 block of 77th Terrace North after a woman reported her son had stabbed her nephew and then stabbed himself, and that both had fled the scene.

The woman told police that her son, 37-year-old Olin Hess, complained about having his cousin, 32-year-old Timothy Adams, in the residence and wanted him to leave.

When she refused to make him leave, she told police that Hess came out of his bedroom and stabbed Adams in the chest before stabbing himself.

Shortly afterward, police located Adams, at a nearby residence, Police say Adams fled and was hospitalized as a trauma alert.

A K-9 unit then located Hess in the 7800 block of 70th Street. Police say Hess failed to comply and was subdued by the K-9, and that a knife was found in Hess’ chest.

Adams is listed in stable condition, police say. Hess is hospitalized with a stab wound to the chest, and faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
