— The family and friends of a local Army soldier critically injured while deployed overseas is hosting an event Thursday at Tarpon Springs High School’s Sponger Field.

People will gather on the football field to honor Levi Eaves and accept donations of supplies to send to deployed troops.

According to an event flyer, Eaves sustained numerous critical injuries from an improvised explosive device. He is currently hospitalized in Europe, the flyer states.

Donations can be brought to the high school on Thursday or dropped off in one of two bins placed at City Hall, located at 410 N. Ring Ave.
