— After a successful launch last year, Florida Hospital North Pinellas will hold its second Ask the Experts event next week.

Residents of Tarpon Springs and the surrounding community can attend the free June 18 event, which will feature more than 40 doctors at Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort’s Inverness Hall.

“It’s a nice mixture of activities,” said Christine Longley, the hospital’s community outreach and volunteer services manager. “There are a lot of good resources and a lot of information on upcoming events.”

About 365 people attended last year’s inaugural Ask the Experts and Longley expects more this year. “We’re going for 500-600 and we’ll take whatever we get,” she said.

Highlighting the event will be a sit-down dinner and the question-and-answer portion that follows.

Guests get to choose which doctor they would like to dine with, based on their professional expertise. Five of the doctors then will take the stage to answer questions asked by audience members. Even if guests are uncomfortable or embarrassed speaking in front of a crowded room, organizers have that covered, Longley said.

“All the doctors stay after if people are maybe too bashful to ask their questions in front of an audience,” she said.

A prize drawing will giveaways follows thequestion-and-answer session.

The event will lead off in the lobby of Inverness Hall at 4:30 p.m. Sponsors of all sorts will have service or merchandise booths set up and free medical screenings – glucose, blood pressure, balance, etc. – are also available.

Reservations to attend are required and can be made by calling (727) 943-3600.
