Cold weather shelters open in Pinellas

A cold front ushering in the coldest weather of the season has prompted shelters to open tonight and Tuesday in Pinellas County.

The adult shelters open at about 6 p.m. and close about 6 a.m. Shelter guests are provided dinner and breakfast.

Tarpon Springs: St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 812 E. Tarpon Ave., Tarpon Springs. Families with children can call (727) 528-5762 or (727) 893-7627 to make arrangements to stay in a motel.

Clearwater primary shelter: Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church, 110 S. Fort Harrison Ave. (727) 442-3677.

Clearwater backup shelter: St. Cecelia Catholic Church, 820 Jasmine Way. (727) 447-3494.

Pinellas Park: Boys & Girls Club of the Suncoast, 7790 61st St. N. (727) 574-5437.
