Bicyclist seriously injured after being struck by car in Largo

LARGO -

A bicyclist was seriously injured this morning after being struck by a car in Largo.

Largo police say an adult male bicyclist was riding westbound across Belcher Road at Ulmerton Road when he was struck by a Dodge Neon traveling southbound on Belcher Road.

The bicyclist was seriously injured and airlifted to an area hospital, police say. The driver of the Neon was not injured.

The intersection of Belcher and Ulmerton road will be shut down while the investigation continues, police say.
