NEW PORT RICHEY — The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office and the Lucas, Green, and Magazine law firm will present a free expo dedicated to women’s health and safety.

The Oct. 5 event will feature sessions on self-defense, home security, insurance, communications, family law, medical care and more.

The Women’s 360 Expo will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Verizon Event Center, 8718 Trouble Creek Road. Following that will be presentations by Sheriff Chris Nocco, ABC Action News Anchor Deiah Riley and laparoscopic gynecological surgeon Pareveen Vahora.

There will also be demonstrations by Damsels IN Defense, a stun gun product geared towards women, as well as training in Krav Maga, a self-defense, protection and combat skills system developed in Israel.

In an email to vendors, the Women’s 360 Team, Yvette Behmer, Lucas, Green and Magazine, had this to say: “This event is already successful due to your partnering with us. We want to empower women through educating them in all areas of their life while encouraging women who have been downtrodden through violence and sexual battery and human trafficking. All proceeds raised and accepted through this event will assist Domestic Violence Shelters in our area. We can make a difference.”

There will also be live music and food vendors, including Pit Boss, Fire house Subs, TCBY and Tastee Empanadas. Donations will be accepted to help domestic violence shelters in Pasco County.

The last expo was held April 13 at the Shops at Wiregrass mall in Wesley Chapel.
