Fundraisers are seeking business and individual sponsorships from $500 to $5,000 toward major repairs of the historic Hacienda hotel.
A press conference tentatively set for next week would recognize donors for the project to restore the landmark in downtown New Port Richey, Summer Martin reported as marketing and events coordinator for Pasco Economic Development Council.
“We are planning to recognize donors and anyone who has given time to the project,” Martin said.
Sponsorships could augment individual donations to an online pledge drive through the Citizinvestor website. As of Wednesday, people had pledged $3,886, a bit more than 10 percent of the goal with 34 days left.
Nobody is charged if the $37,800 total of the crowd-funding goal is not reached.
Fundraisers are dangling numerous inducements in front of potential sponsors. All sponsors will get invitations to a VIP reception the day when the Hacienda reopens at Main and Bank streets.
At the $1,000 level, donors will get an 8-by-10 historical print of the Hacienda Hotel, as well as recognition on various websites or Facebook pages.
The $2,500 level adds recognition on a Hacienda Hotel page to be created on the city’s website plus a banner to be displayed at a press conference.
At the top level of $5,000, sponsors will get a chance to give three-minute speeches during a press conference and special press releases about their generosity.

Money would go toward structural repairs of the hotel, which opened in 1927. Hundreds of residents joined two community cleanup days in January and February to repaint the building, clean the interior and perform minor repairs.
Meanwhile, PEDC should conclude a survey soon on behalf of the city about suggestions by the public for possible uses of the Hacienda.
