The Pasco County school district is surveying staff, parents and students in an effort to improve how the district operates.
The online climate survey began Monday and continues through Friday. Links to the survey are on the district website at www.pasco.k12.fl.us.
At a school board meeting Feb. 5, Assistant Superintendent Amelia Van Name Larson described the survey as way to take the temperature of the district.
The district is urging all school staff to participate in the survey.
In addition, classrooms were randomly selected at each school to participate in either the parent survey or the student survey. Students selected are in fourth through 12th grade.
"The purpose of the surveys is to gather information regarding what each group thinks about the school and their perceptions concerning how the school or district can be improved," according to a memorandum from Peggy Jones, director of the district's office for accountability, research and measurement.
In the memo, Jones says the results will not be used to critique principals, department directors or any school personnel.
