NEW PORT RICHEY -

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning to parents about a man they believe molested a boy and girl Friday in the New Port Richey area.

Investigators are seeking the public’s help in finding the man, who offered candy to lure the 9-year-olds behind a vacant home, deputies said.

The incident occurred about 8 p.m. on the 6000 block of Ninth Avenue, deputies said.

The suspect was described by investigators as being white and in his late 50s to early 70s, with gray hair and a medium to large build. He was driving a maroon, four-door sport utility vehicle, deputies said.

Anyone with information was asked to call the sheriff’s office’s toll free tip line, (800) 706-2488.
