Kiwanis Club collects school supplies for needy students

Published:

It may be summer, but Kiwanis Club of Greater West Pasco is teaming up with Gulfside Hospice & Pasco Palliative Care to collect supplies for needy students who will head back to school next month.

Beginning Tuesday, July 15, Gulfside Hospice Thrift Shoppes will help in the campaign, which runs through Aug. 5.

Anyone who donates to the drive will receive a voucher for 25 percent off a single item valid for up to one week after donating their items at any Gulfside thrift shop location.

Backpacks are needed for both younger and older children, officials said.

Other items needed include colored pencils, crayons, erasers, folders, glue sticks, markers, notebooks, paper, pencil case, pens, scissors and yellow pencils.

Contributions will be accepted accepted from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at all five Gulfside shops. They include Hudson Thrift Shoppe at 12154 U.S. 19 and New Port Richey Thrift Shoppe at 6117 S.R. 54. Call the Hudson location at (727) 861-4900 or the New Port Richey store at (727) 842-7262.
