SEVEN SPRINGS — Florida Cancer Affiliates broke ground last week for its cutting-edge cancer treatment center at 3611 Little Road, near Old State Road 54.
FCA is a community-based medical oncology, hematology, and radiation therapy oncology practice. The firm currently operates two locations, 5500 Little Road, New Port Richey; and 11373 Cortez Blvd., Suite 200, Spring Hill.
Graham Design Associates prepared plans for construction of the second Pasco facility.
The Seven Springs-area FCA office will feature Elekta Infinity, a highly sophisticated radiation treatment system for cancer that reduces the time required for radiotherapy sessions to five minutes or less.
The system gives clinicians the ability to treat targets more aggressively than ever before.
The treatment center will include outpatient treatment and diagnostic facilities, including chemotherapy, hematology, radiation therapy, positron emission tomography (PET), clinical research, pharmacy and laboratory.
Clients can get financial counseling and patient support services as well.
Florida Cancer Affiliates physicians are Gerald Robbins, Lawrence Hochman, Richard Caradonna, Shilen Patel, Fadi Nakhl and Uday Dandamudi.
FCA is a partner of the Moffitt Cancer Center and affiliated with the U.S. Oncology Network, which has more than 1,000 physicians and 10,000 cancer professionals nationwide.
