TRINITY — CARES is searching for more volunteers for its Celebrity Waiters Luncheon, a “fun”draising event to help the nonprofit agency assist senior residents.
The 2014 event will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Bonefish Grill, 10750 S.R. 54, according to Brenda Martyniak, CARES communications director.
This 3-year-old lunchtime event has no formal program, allowing ample social and networking time for attendees, Martyniak added.
Each celebrity waiter will be asked to find a $100 table sponsor, who will be mentioned in all print materials and public relations activities.
The volunteer waiter also invites six to eight friends, fans, family or business associates to enjoy an exclusive, complimentary meal donated by Bonefish Grill.
Guests are asked to leave a generous tip that will benefit CARES.
Celebrity Waiters will receive a personalized chef coat that will be co-branded with the Bonefish Grill logo. CARES is also asking for local businesses to provide door prizes to be given away at the event.
Celebrity waiters who have signed up so far include: state Rep. Amanda Murphy, D-New Port Richey; Pasco Clerk and Comptroller Paula O’Neil; Pasco Commissioner Jack Mariano; Tax Collector Mike Fasano, West Pasco Chamber of Commerce President Chip Wichma- nowski; New Port Richey City Councilman Jeff Starkey; and Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point CEO Joe Pino.
Also: Jennifer Selk of Suncoast Clinical Research; Derek Pontlitz of Pontlitz Asset Advisors; West Pasco Historical Society President Bob Langford; Trinity Spine Institute CFO Andrew Oster; Paul Lentini of Wells Fargo Advisors; Marvelous Marvin of Hits 106 Radio; and CARES CFO Charles Sobel.
Would-be celebrity waiters, table sponsors, guests or door prize providers should call Evie Parks at (727) 842-9587.
The proceeds from this event will help CARES provide home care for the frail elderly, senior centers and specialized services for older adults, Martyniak elaborated.
