Boots and Bling to raise funds for senior services

Published:

NEW PORT RICHEY — A touch of Texas and bit of Vegas flash will come to New Port Richey, courtesy of the 2014 Pasco Aging Network Boots and Bling fundraiser.

A Texas hold ‘em tournament will be part of festivities on Friday, Aug. 22, along with other games, dancing, food, auction and more.

The revelry will take place 6:30-10:30 p.m. at Spartan Manor, 6121 Massachusetts Ave.

Tickets include 1,000 Gaming Bling Bucks and hot or cold hors d’oeuvres.

Tickets are still available. Suggested donations for advance tickets are $25 each, two for $40, five for $90 or 10 for $175. Tickets cost $35 each at the door.

Contact Terry Weaver, a PAN spokesman, at (352) 796-9891 or tlweaver@wilsontechgroup.com for ticket information.

All proceeds from the 3-year-old event help support senior services in Pasco, Weaver emphasized in a press release. Last year, $8,000 in grants were awarded to nonprofit agencies trying to make life easier for elderly residents, Weaver noted.

PAN, affiliated with the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, is a coalition of public and private organizations and companies providing elder services. Created in 1989, PAN provides a forum for networking, sharing ideas, disseminating information and supporting local nonprofits through fundraisers. The group meets the second Wednesday of every month.
