A 14-year-old boy waiting for a school bus was injured Friday morning when he was struck by car in Holiday, deputies said.
Pasco County sheriff’s deputies responded at 7:53 a.m. to the area of Kimberly Oaks Drive and Moog Road and found the teen complaining of an ankle injury.
He was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, deputies said.
“Preliminary information shows the juvenile was by the side of the road waiting for a bus when a vehicle hit the child,” sheriff’s spokesman Doug Tobin said in a news release.
The driver said the sun was in her eyes and she didn’t see the boy, according to deputies.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating, Tobin said.
No other details were released.
