A New Port Richey woman died Sunday when she lost control of her motorcycle and crashed into a concrete storm drain.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 44-year-old Marcy Lynne Bacon-Stutzman was driving westbound in the inside lane of State Road 54, approaching the intersection of Starkey Boulevard, when she lost control at a curve.

Bacon-Stutzman left the roadway and onto a grass median, across a left turn lane, then struck the storm drain, the FHP said.

The impact caused the motorcycle to become airborne, ejecting Bacon-Stutzman, who was not wearing a helmet, to the FHP.

Bacon-Stutzman died at the scene, the FHP said.
