More parade boats needed

Organizers of the 2012 Holiday Boat Parade are looking for decorated boats to participate in the free event 7:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7.

Registration forms can be found at Tarpon Landing Marina and other local marinas, at the Tarpon Springs Recreation Division, 400 S. Walton Ave., or online at www.ctsfl.us/recreation/recreation.html.

Pinellas watershed online meeting

Pinellas County Extension and the Department of Environment will host an online town hall discussion from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28 to discuss protecting area watersheds, which in Pinellas is the entire county.

Live attendance is also available at the Pinellas County Communications Department at 333 Chestnut St. in Clearwater.

Food pantry needs support

F.E.A.S.T. Food Pantry is in need of canned items, toiletries and cash donations.

The nonprofit organization serves more than 3,200 families in North Pinellas each month.

Volunteers are also needed. Call (727) 789-5275 or drop off donations at 2255 Nebraska Ave., Palm Harbor.

'Best Wings' competition

The Greater Palm Harbor Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the "Battle of the Wings Contest" that takes place during the 2012 Harbor Art Festival, Dec. 1 and 2.

Any Pinellas County restaurant or vendor is welcomed to participate and applications must be submitted by Nov. 24. The entry fee is $100 and vendors must carry insurance.

Town hall for teens

The Greater Palm Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce's Government Affairs Committee series of Town Hall Meetings continues from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29 with a gathering geared toward teenagers.

Town hall meetings are held at the Palm Harbor Library and this "Teen Town Hall" will be moderated by David Liebert, Tarpon Springs Academic Chair for the Social and Behavioral Sciences and Psychology at St. Petersburg College.

The event is open to the public.

Free hospital health event

Florida Hospital North Pinellas is inviting the public to attend a free event at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29 that details peripheral vascular disease.

Saleem Saiyad, an interventional cardiologist, will lead the discussion on the second floor of the hospital, located at 1395 S. Pinellas Ave.

Pet-related vendors sought

Pinellas County Animal Services is seeking vendors to participate in the Pinellas Paws Cause Holiday Celebration at its Largo headquarters, at 12450 Ulmerton Road, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.

Cat alliance holding Chinese auction

The Tampa Bay Cat Alliance is holding its 2012 Tricky Tray/Chinese Auction from 4-8 p.m. on Dec. 1.

The event will take place at East Lake Woodlands Country Club, 1055 East Lake Woodlands Parkway.

Tickets are $15 and that will provide access to a hot and cold buffet and cash bar, entertainment and five raffle tickets.
