SWFWMD intensifies drought-condition restrictions

As of May 9, the Southwest Florida Water Management District issued an emergency Modified Phase II Severe Water Shortage Order for the Tampa Bay Area.

The Pinellas County sent out a press release to the local media announcing the intensified water-use restrictions earlier today at 1:02 p.m. Swiftmud, as the roughly 10,000-square-mile district is commonly known, oversees the water management of more than 5 million people in 16 counties.
