Detectives are investigating a fire that destroyed an observation tower at a Palm Harbor-area park this morning.

Palm Harbor Fire Rescue personnel, responding to a reported brush fire around 7:30 a.m., found the observation tower at Pinellas County’s Wall Springs Park fully engulfed.

The fire destroyed the 3,000-square-foot, four-story tower at 3725 Desoto Blvd., officials say.

The park will remain closed during the investigation, officials say.
